Role Overview: Our client, a global and employee-owned insurance broker, is looking for a PR Account Executive to join their corporate communications team. This full-time, permanent role, based in their central London office, requires onsite presence three days per week. The Account Executive will work closely with the Group PR Director, PR Assistant Manager, and PR agencies to drive communications and PR activities across various channels, both internally and externally. The focus will be on media relations, story pitching, and PR output monitoring. Please note this role is a mid-senior level position.
Responsibilities:
- Proactive Media Relations: The PR Account Executive will generate positive coverage for our client by liaising with product lines and marketing teams, arranging commentary, building internal relationships to identify stories, working with PR agencies to secure commentary, drafting briefings, and maintaining media relations. They will arrange interviews for key spokespeople to creatively and consistently tell our client's corporate story.
- Reactive Media Relations: The role involves coordinating media enquiries and responses, alerting senior management to potentially damaging enquiries, and developing appropriate responses in a timely manner.
- Press Releases, Q&As, Briefings: The PR Account Executive will produce high-quality written materials, manage the approval process, and distribute materials to the media or within the Group for information and guidance.
- PR Reporting: They will manage the collation of news coverage and create monthly coverage reports using the Signal platform to generate metrics.
- Social Media: The role includes collaborating with the social media team on LinkedIn posts and campaigns, working with internal communications on employee-focused announcements, and liaising with the digital team to post releases on the website.
Person Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar PR or corporate communications role with a proven ability to secure media coverage.
- Demonstrated experience in managing diverse stakeholders across various business levels.
- Excellent writing skills with experience drafting copy for both internal and external communications.
- Preferably, a working knowledge of the insurance and/or financial services industry, its key players, and current hot topics.
