The Interim Head of Communications Role

We’re looking for an assured, highly‑credible Head of Communications to support our client – one of the UK’s largest & high‑profile charities – on an interim basis for the next 6x months. This is the kind of uncommon interim assignment in which you’ll get to do the kind of work that directly impacts huge numbers of people and has a deep, lasting impact.

Communications Skills and Experience We Need

You’ll need to be a really seasoned, senior comms pro with some background in awareness & fundraising comms and a critical awareness of impact messaging, editorial best practice and how to deliver results in complex organisations. You’ll be totally at home with end‑to‑end communications plans, narrative development & strategy with an uncanny ability to turn knotty data into clear actions.

Leadership and Team Management Skills

More than all that, you’ll be an empath with solid line management experience and the human skills to wrap your metaphorical arms around an existing team and help them build credibility, confidence and to deliver their best work. Naturally, you’ll be a great communicator in both verbal & written forms but you’ll also blend a highly collaborative personal style with bags of executive credibility.

About the Charity

This is a highly visible role at a brilliant organisation midway through a period of change so the ideal candidate will be the kind of professional who oozes comfort and confidence operating at this level. In return, you’ll benefit from a highly flexible working model although an office is available in London should you wish. We are committed to equality of opportunity for all.
