A leading strategic communications consultancy is seeking an experienced Associate Director or Director to join its award-winning health practice. This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned healthcare policy and communications professional to take on a senior leadership role shaping client campaigns across life sciences, medtech, patient groups and health charities. The role offers a platform to deliver high-impact public affairs and corporate communications work while also helping to grow client relationships and support team development in a thriving, people-first agency environment.
Health Policy & Communications Associate Director/Director Key Responsibilities
- Lead and shape integrated communications and public affairs campaigns across a range of health and life sciences issues
- Serve as a trusted strategic adviser to senior clients, offering sharp policy insight and communications counsel
- Translate complex health policy and regulatory issues into compelling client strategies and narratives
- Drive forward client programmes across multiple accounts, ensuring delivery of high standards and results
- Guide, coach and inspire team members, promoting a collaborative and inclusive working environment
- Support business growth by leading pitches and proposals, as well as identifying new opportunities
- Represent the consultancy externally, drawing on a network of contacts in health, life sciences and policy circles
- Maintain a strong understanding of the health landscape, including NHS reform, market access and life sciences innovation
Health Policy & Communications Associate Director/Director Key Requirements
- Extensive experience in healthcare policy, public affairs and/or communications (agency or in-house)
- Demonstrated success in delivering health campaigns and advising on market access or life sciences policy
- Strategic thinker with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset and high-level problem-solving skills
- Excellent client servicing, project management, and leadership experience
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to deliver structured, persuasive advice
- Familiarity with business development and a flair for growing accounts (essential for Director level)
- Team leadership skills with a commitment to mentoring and supporting junior colleagues
- A collaborative and curious approach, with a drive to keep learning and innovating
