This is a fantastic opportunity to join a trade association within the publishing space as their new Head of Public Affairs.
This person will be responsible for developing and implementing the public affairs strategy for the organisation, working as the spokesperson and engaging with political and regulatory audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuous monitoring and evaluation of political stakeholder activity or regulatory decisions against commercial and communications objectives in the industry
- Provide strategic advice on political and policy issues and oversee wider communications to members
- Build on the existing network with other trade associations, industry partners and other groups to support positive policy developments within publishing
- Direct and oversee the development and implementation of campaigns that are of strategic importance
- Advise and liaise with senior management on key public affairs and wider reputational issues
Key Requirements:
- Exceptional communication skills and experience working with the media, third parties and political audiences to further the organisations’ interests.
- Line management experience
- Strong intellect which can be used to bear on the complex policy issues that are associated with publishing and the creative industry as a whole
- A belief in the value of the creative industries and a desire to drive it forward
