We are conducting a retained search for a Sales Director to build and lead the corporate sales function for a commercially ambitious, institutionally backed business at the forefront of the nature recovery market. Our client operates at the intersection of environmental delivery and commercial innovation. They work across land-based nature and habitat solutions, combining deep in-house expertise with the financing and long-term accountability that neither consultancies nor NGOs can typically offer. They have a strong and growing footprint in the UK market and the infrastructure, credibility, and backing to scale significantly.
Now they are opening a new commercial chapter: moving beyond their established market into the corporate and voluntary nature space — selling nature-based solutions to large businesses navigating sustainability strategy, physical climate risk, and the growing regulatory weight of TNFD and CSRD obligations. They are also working with major infrastructure projects — utilities, water companies, transport authorities — to position nature as a practical, commercially structured solution to flood risk, water quality, and habitat challenges.
This is an end-to-end commercial role. You will own the pipeline — from first conversation to close — across two streams: voluntary corporate nature products and project-level infrastructure mitigation. You will not be working from a fixed product catalogue. You will diagnose client problems, shape bespoke solutions, and coordinate a strong internal team of ecologists, planners, and commercial specialists to deliver them.
There is already significant market interest. What this business needs is someone to impose structure, create momentum, and turn broad curiosity into signed deals.
What We Are Looking For
You will be credible in a room with a Chief Sustainability Officer or infrastructure project director. You will have a track record of closing complex, high-value B2B deals — the kind where the sales cycle runs to months, not weeks, and where the solution is built around the client's problem rather than pulled from a shelf.
You are a builder. You are motivated by what this business is becoming, not by the size of the team around you. You are patient enough to develop long-cycle opportunities, and disciplined enough to qualify real potential from general interest. And you care, genuinely, about nature restoration. Without that, this role will not work.
We are looking across a wide range of backgrounds: voluntary carbon and nature markets, environmental consultancy, green finance, corporate sustainability product sales, and sales-led entrepreneurs who have built something from the ground up in an adjacent space.
The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to build a commercial function in a market that is growing fast, within a business that has established real credibility and scale in its sector. The long-term financial and professional upside is significant. The base salary is competitive, with a performance bonus of up to 40%.
