The role will involve supporting students who have physical disabilities and is ideal for those with experience in care settings, particularly supporting individuals with disabilities, mobility needs, or behavioural challenges. You will be working in a range of settings, including:
SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) schools
Mainstream schools with high-need or EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) pupils
Schools that support pupils with complex physical and medical needs
Responsibilities in this teaching assistant role include:
Supporting pupils with additional needs in lessons and around the school
Providing personal care and assistance with mobility, as required
Helping students stay focused and engaged in their learning
Promoting inclusion, independence, and emotional well-being
Working alongside teaching staff and therapists to deliver consistent support
Qualifications and attributes:
Experience as a social care worker, support worker, or in a residential care setting
Comfortable with personal care and supporting physical needs
Calm, compassionate, and adaptable approach to supporting children and young people
A good level of written and spoken English is essential
Passionate about helping pupils achieve their full potential in an educational setting

Term-time only working (typically 8:00am3:30/4:00pm)
Placements in both mainstream and special schools across Bristol and surrounding areas
