We are currently recruiting a part-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in BS4, near Brislington.
This Teaching Assistant role involves working on a one-to-one basis with a pupil with additional needs within a mainstream primary school. The successful Teaching Assistant will play an important role in helping the pupil access learning, build confidence, and feel supported in the classroom.
Working days: Wednesday to Friday
Start date: Immediate
Duration: Ongoing
The Teaching Assistant Role
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support as a Teaching Assistant for a pupil with special educational needs
- Supporting learning, engagement, and emotional wellbeing as a classroom Teaching Assistant
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO as part of the wider support team
- Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs
- Encouraging independence and positive progress
The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will Have
- Strong previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly supporting children with SEN
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach in their role as a Teaching Assistant
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Availability to work consistently Wednesday to Friday
