We are committed to building a more sustainable future and recognise that a diverse workforce is vital to our growth and advancement.</p><h2>Laboratory Technician – National Laboratory</h2><p>Location: Chipping Sodbury | Contract: Full-time | Department: Laboratory / Technical Services</p><h2>Purpose of the Role</h2><p>To examine and test asphalt, aggregates, concrete, and associated construction materials in line with European Standards and in full compliance with UKAS regulations.</p><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul><li><b>Health & Safety</b><ul><li>Always comply with the company Health & Safety Policy and all relevant legislation.</li><li>Follow all Safe Working Procedures as issued and updated.</li><li>Actively promote and contribute to a positive health & safety culture across the laboratory.</li></ul></li><li><b>Quality</b><ul><li>Carry out laboratory testing in accordance with approved procedures and local work instructions.</li><li>Suspend testing and report immediately to the Senior Laboratory Technician when deviations or issues are identified.</li><li>Support continuous improvement in test accuracy, process efficiency, and overall service quality.</li></ul></li><li><b>Production</b><ul><li>Conduct testing efficiently to ensure results are delivered within agreed business timescales.</li><li>Maintain a well‑organised and productive working environment.</li></ul></li><li><b>Customer Service</b><ul><li>Build excellent working relationships with internal and external customers.</li><li>Assist the Senior Laboratory Technician with resolving customer queries promptly and professionally.</li></ul></li></ul><h2>What We’re Looking For</h2><ul><li>A proactive, safety‑conscious mindset</li><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy</li><li>Ability to follow structured procedures and quality standards</li><li>Good communication and teamwork skills</li><li>Previous laboratory or construction materials testing experience is desirable but not essential—full training will be provided.</li></ul><h2>Why Join Us?</h2><p>You’ll be part of a supportive team where accuracy, learning, and high standards are valued.
