If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Quarry Operative to join our team at Batts Combe Quarry. No previous quarry experience is required. We're looking for enthusiastic, reliable individuals with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Full training will be provided, along with the opportunity to develop into a Multi-Skilled Operative, gaining experience across both mobile and static plant operations. As a Quarry Operative, you’ll play an important role in the safe and efficient running of the site while developing valuable skills and long-term career opportunities within our business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Operating the quarry weighbridge for all incoming and outgoing vehicles.
- Processing delivery tickets, sales orders, customer accounts, and waste transfer documentation accurately.
- Providing a professional and welcoming experience for drivers, customers, contractors, and visitors.
- Working closely with supervisors, transport providers, and site teams to support efficient operations.
- Maintaining accurate records and administrative systems.
- Ensuring vehicle compliance and site access requirements are met.
- Reporting safety concerns, incidents, and near misses promptly.
- Supporting general site administration and operational activities as required.
- Following all Heidelberg Materials Health & Safety, Environmental, and Compliance procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- Good IT skills and confidence using computer systems.
- Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to develop new skills.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
- Previous experience in a weighbridge, logistics, transport, administration, or customer service role would be beneficial, but is not essential.
