Job Overview
As an HGV Driver, you will deliver Heidelberg Materials products safely, efficiently and professionally, maintaining the highest standards of customer service, compliance and vehicle safety.
Responsibilities
- Safely deliver Heidelberg Materials products to customers.
- Operate specialist vehicles, including tippers, concrete mixers, walking floor vehicles and rolling floor vehicles.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks, maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of vehicles.
- Complete all vehicle records and documentation in accordance with company and legal requirements.
- Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, Road Transport Law, Working Time Directive regulations and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service at every delivery point.
- Follow environmental procedures relating to waste, water discharge and dust control.
- Support operational requirements through flexibility in working locations and overnight stays when required.
- Attend training and development programmes to meet customer and business requirements.
Qualifications
- Essential: Valid HGV licence, CPC qualification, Digital Tachograph Card, strong commitment to safety and compliance, excellent customer service and communication skills, professional and courteous approach, ability to work flexibly including overnight stays, reliable, self‑motivated and capable of working independently.
- Desirable: Experience operating specialist vehicles such as tippers, concrete mixers, walking floors or rolling floors; experience within construction materials, aggregates, concrete or logistics sectors; knowledge of transport legislation and compliance requirements.
