Job Purpose: We are working closely with a leading London Market Syndicate for a Head of Business Intelligence to lead and develop the BI function. This role is responsible for designing and delivering business data strategies, leveraging analytics to drive business decisions and building a culture of data-driven innovation across the organization. The role reports directly into the COO and is responsible for 7 direct reports. NB: You must have London/Lloyd’s Insurance experience to be eligible for this opportunity. Candidates who do not will not be eligible, as per client requirements. Responsibilities: Develop and execute BI strategies for each function that align with the overall Group strategy Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify business challenges and opportunities, providing strategic recommendations Monitor and report on the performance of BI initiatives, ensuring return on investment Collaborate with the Product Management team to understand all the functions’ data requirements Liaise with the CIO team and: specifically with the Data Delivery team, to articulate business requirements and priorities and ensure that they are developed as required and are fit for purpose optimize data architecture and integration across systems oversee the end-to-end integration and reporting requirements of any new teams, products, applications, and entities requiring incorporation within the GDS support the on-going development of the GDS and the decommissioning of the existing legacy estate Oversee the development of dashboards, reports and analytics tools that provide clear, actionable insights to stakeholders Ensure data quality, integrity and security through the Group Data Governance Framework; maintaining best practices and compliance with relevant regulations Stay informed about emerging trends in data and analytics to maintain a competitive edge and drive innovation Serve as an active member of the relevant Operations, Technology and Data working groups and committees, championing the BI team Promote the importance of accurate, complete, reliable, relevant and timely data and the benefits Own, manage and support all centralised reporting in the enterprise-wide Power BI platform Own Power BI engagement with users throughout the business, providing training, security, standards and guidelines Own data governance tooling, including Master Data Management and Data Quality Extensive stakeholder engagement with peers and the executives to champion the benefits and value of data Focus on developing the team’s core competencies and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement Create a strong team-working ethic and environment in which the team can thrive Manage and support the career development of the team Ensure that coaching and/or mentoring needs of the team are suitably met
