We’re working closely with a London Market Insurance Syndicate to hire an experienced Contract Data Engineer to support the ongoing development and enhancement of its core data environment. This is a hands‑on role focused on building and optimising the data platform, data warehouse and wider data ecosystem, helping to improve data quality, accessibility and reporting capability across the Syndicate. This opportunity would suit someone with strong Lloyd’s / London Market experience and a solid background in Azure-based data engineering.
What you’ll be doing:
- Build, enhance and support the data ecosystem, including the Syndicate Data Hub
- Develop and maintain ETL / ELT pipelines for ingesting, transforming and delivering data
- Support the design and evolution of the data model, with a focus on Syndicate-specific requirements
- Load and manage ad hoc data sets within the data platform
- Develop data services / APIs to support internal stakeholders and downstream systems
- Support scheduled data outputs and reporting processes
- Promote best practice in data quality, governance, testing and documentation
- Collaborate with the wider team in an Agile delivery environment
- Share knowledge and support junior team members where needed
