A pan UK/European insurance company is looking for a Network Engineer who can play a key role in an expanding team. As Network Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting data and voice network equipment as well as the planning & installation for location moves, phone services, wiring, monitoring and trouble-shooting networking problems.
Key Accountabilities
- To work closely with the Network Manager ensuring maximum uptime and managed change to the UK/European network
- Full ownership and accountability of day to day network operations and support activities (support tickets, patching, documentation, Visio diagrams)
- Escalation management first point of contact for all issues/escalations from supported user base
- Issue/Outage management work with the Network Manager and related support teams to ensure rapid resolution of any issues or outages on the network
- Stakeholder management at senior Director and CIO level
- Ownership of change management activities for the network
- Delivery of IT services against defined SLAs, including the production of metrics to monitor the services provided to the business
- Engagement in Disaster Recovery activities including out-of-hours tests
- Delivery of network tasks to projects as required

- Palo Alto Firewall administration
- NetScaler load balancer administration
- Cisco Wireless network administration
- Configuration and implementation of Cisco Nexus and Catalyst 4510/4500X Switches
- Configuration and implementation of Cisco ISR and ASR Routers
- Expert in Cisco routing and switching
- Good level of knowledge in Cisco Telephony technologies
- Excellent network troubleshooting skills
