HG Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Urgent Care Practitioner to join our bank of professionals supporting NHS and community urgent care services. This role involves autonomous clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with a wide range of minor injuries and illnesses, across various settings including urgent treatment centres, home visits, and via telephone or video consultations.

You will provide senior-level clinical decision-making, work collaboratively with multi-professional teams, and deliver timely, evidence-based care that reduces hospital admissions and enhances patient experience.

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid registration with NMC (1st Level Nurse) or HCPC (Paramedic).
  • Educated to degree level (Level 6).
  • Evidence of postgraduate (Level 7) study, or equivalent experience through short courses and training.
  • History Taking, Clinical Assessment, Minor Illness and Minor Injury Management at Level 6 or 7.
  • Demonstrable advanced clinical skills in urgent/emergency care.
  • Minimum of 2 years consolidated urgent care or equivalent clinical experience.
  • Ability to work under PGDs or as an independent prescriber (desirable).
  • Proven experience of clinical leadership and mentoring junior staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confident working across multidisciplinary teams and care pathways.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.
  • Full UK driving licence (for home visiting roles).
  • Compliance with mandatory training (BLS, Manual Handling, Safeguarding, etc).
