What we offer
$28.93/hr to $36.16/hr. Compensation for this position will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. Who you are – Financial Coach
You are a dynamic, detail oriented, intuitive person with the ability to develop relationships, build rapport and become a trusted team member. You are able to provide everyone you assist or support with a high level of service, have strong organization and multi-tasking skills, and are searching for a rewarding career where you are valued and respected.
What you'll do
- Branch Operations: Ensure personal operations (assigned cash drawer, assigned member document processing, etc.) are conducted in alignment with operational compliance standards, as well as have an understanding of all in-branch service functions including account opening and closing, balancing ATM and cash recycler, loan application processing and teller transaction processing.
- Member Education: Provide personalized financial coaching and education to members, helping them develop a deep understanding of personal finance, budgeting, debt management, and savings strategies.
- Financial Planning: Assist members in setting and achieving financial goals by creating comprehensive financial plans tailored to their individual circumstances and aspirations.
- Credit and Debt Management: Offer guidance on improving credit scores, managing debt effectively, and making informed decisions about loans and credit products.
- Budgeting and Savings: Help members create and maintain budgets that align with their financial goals, emphasizing the importance of emergency funds and long-term savings.
- Product and Service Guidance: Educate members on our credit union products and services, ensuring they are aware of options that can improve their financial well-being.
- Workshops and Seminars: Conduct financial wellness workshops, webinars, and seminars for members, both in-branch and online, covering a range of financial topics.
- One-on-One Consultations: Schedule and conduct individual consultations with members to review their financial situations, provide advice, and track progress.
- Data Analysis: Utilize financial analysis tools and credit reports to identify areas for improvement and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of member interactions, progress, and outcomes. Provide regular reports to management on the impact of the financial wellness program.
- Stay Informed: Keep up to date with financial industry trends, regulations, and changes in credit union products and services to provide members with accurate and timely information.
- Meet or exceed performance goals. Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to traveling to other branches as staffing needs require.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required
- Strong desire to work in a purpose driven organization.
- 3 to 5 years of experience.
- Strong understanding of personal finance, credit, and debt management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in conducting financial workshops and one-on-one coaching.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools.
- Empathy and a passion for helping individuals improve their financial well-being.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements
- Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
- Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency situation.
- Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
- Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.
- Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management.
- Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
Mental and/or Emotional Requirements
- Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
- Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions.
- Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics.
- Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
- Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.
- Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace.
- Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities.
- Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
