As our Internal Sales Engineer UK & Ireland, you will play a key role in supporting our external sales activities, helping customers and internal teams turn technical requirements into successful project outcomes.

Your Role

In this position, you will support the external sales teams operating in the UK and Ireland and work closely with local sales, Group internal sales teams, order management and customers.

The role includes communication with new and existing customers from different sectors, including heating and ventilation, refrigeration, energy and process markets.

You will also support order management by checking project documents, contributing to the fulfilment of orders and providing first-level aftersales support for claims and site operational requests.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the external sales team in preparing proposals and presentations for contacts in the UK and Ireland.
  • Support the maintenance and development of existing customers through regular sales contact.
  • Actively develop projects from design stage through to specification
  • Demonstrate selection software to customers where feasible, encourage its adoption and provide ongoing training.
  • Work with sales technical support teams at Group level to generate quotations and maximise the external sales team’s face-to-face time with customers.
  • Support the successful delivery of orders by clearly communicating project requirements to the sales technical support team.
  • Keep Salesforce relevant and maintain the necessary sales records on local servers.
  • Participate in local sales meetings, share market activity, identify sales trends and contribute to key performance indicators.
  • Support order management in checking project documents and fulfilling orders.
  • Provide aftersales support to the market, including first-level support for claims and site operational requests.
  • Liaise with the existing management team to maintain strong service levels and share knowledge with other team members.
  • Provide regular reporting on the market situation to the Managing Director.

Your bring

You are a technically minded sales professional with strong communication skills and a practical, customer-focused approach.

You enjoy working across teams, coordinating technical information and supporting customers with reliable, solution-oriented advice.

  • A background as a Mechanical or Refrigeration Engineer with a qualification to HNC level or higher in a relevant discipline.
  • Knowledge of air conditioning, commercial refrigeration, industrial refrigeration, energy and power cooling, heat pumps, CRM and project management.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the sector as a Sales Engineer, with a proven track record of success.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and, ideally, ERP systems such as Infor.
  • A self-driven, autonomous working style and readiness to work with teams remotely.
  • Ideally, registration with a relevant trade institution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • A proactive, client-focused mindset.
