URGENT REQUIREMENT — SC ELIGIBLE DATA ENGINEER CONTRACTS
Multiple roles · Mid-level, Senior & Lead · Hybrid (UK)
£450–£600 per day (Inside IR35, dependent on experience)
Initial 12-month SOW with a long-term programme roadmap (2–3 years)
Primarily remote with occasional travel to the Midlands (up to 2 days/month)

Hanover are building multiple Data Engineering teams to support a major long-term Central Government programme. The programme focuses on designing and delivering scalable cloud-based data solutions within high-performing Agile delivery teams.
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing, building and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines
- Working with structured data sources to support analytics and downstream services
- Developing solutions within modern cloud environments
- Collaborating within Agile engineering teams in fast-paced delivery settings
- Improving data quality, reliability and platform performance
- Contributing to engineering best practice and knowledge sharing across teams
What we’re looking for:
- Proven background as a Data Engineer within complex delivery environments
- Strong ETL/ELT experience
- Experience with AWS, Oracle, PL/SQL and/or PostgreSQL
- Strong SQL and data modelling fundamentals
- Comfortable operating within delivery-focused Agile teams under tight timescales
- UK Central Government experience highly desirable; banking or other high-transaction enterprise environments also considered
