We are looking for a strategic and commercially driven Director to lead and grow a high-performing team within Hanover. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving sustained growth, delivering impactful client solutions, and positioning Hanover as a leader in the communications industry.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage senior client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and escalation point for complex client issues
- Design, sell and oversee the delivery of high-quality communications strategies informed by insight and expertise
- Take ultimate responsibility for the success, performance and growth of key client accounts
- Oversee and manage the team’s new business pipeline, setting strategic direction and driving delivery against targets
- Identify and secure new business opportunities, including organic growth within existing accounts and new client acquisition
- Build and maintain a strong external network to generate business opportunities and enhance Hanover’s market profile
- Provide inspirational leadership, promoting Hanover’s values and fostering an inclusive, high-performing team culture
- Collaborate across Hanover teams and international offices to deliver integrated client solutions
- Ensure the highest standards of quality across all client deliverables through rigorous review and oversight
- Lead financial management for the team, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue tracking and profitability
Key Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in communications, with a strong track record in a senior leadership role, ideally within an agency environment
- Proven ability to lead and grow client accounts, delivering strategic counsel and high-quality service
- Demonstrated success in driving new business, including developing pipelines and converting opportunities
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasting and revenue growth
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with experience developing and mentoring senior team members
- Deep understanding of the communications, media and digital landscape, with the ability to translate trends into client value
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering excellence in all client outputs
- Collaborative mindset, with experience working across teams, disciplines and geographies
- Proactive, driven and solutions-oriented approach, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
