You will be responsible for product ownership in the Group’s L&H Single Risk solution (known currently as the Global Single Risk Solution – GSRS) and its components, ensuring that design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement activities align with the L&H Strategy and Data Operations & Solutions requirements. You will communicate the product vision and manage the product backlog, while acting as liaison between the internal customer stakeholders and the development teams, balancing business requirements with technical feasibility to deliver tangible value to the users and consumers of the solution, efficiently and effectively. You will work with key stakeholders to identify and support the technical, organisational, people, systems, and process impacts and changes needed to support effective adoption and utilisation of the solution. Additionally, you will be providing effective consultancy to projects and the organisation on touchpoints into the Global Single Risk Solution related to process and data flows (or technical integration) across the landscape. You will collaborate with business representatives, end-users, technical teams, project managers, business analysts and experts across the business to maximise the value generated from our product through project and change activities. You will support the establishment and development of a collaborative global Data Operations Community embodying the concept of “together we’re stronger”, partnering existing expertise and emerging talent to share experiences, best practices, and learning across locations, embedding a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establishes structured mechanisms to gather, evaluate and synthesise feedback from global users, local offices, market teams, Single Risk data consumers and stakeholders; building relationships across multiple functional areas to ensure product requirements, issues and future needs are understood.
  • Supports local offices by providing product guidance, subject matter expertise and product knowledge to enable successful adoption and value realisation.
  • Establishes and steers product user groups to optimise product developments and investments.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the development team.
  • Drives initiatives, escalates issues as appropriate, and presents options to management.
  • Collaborates with Risk, Compliance, Data Governance and Architecture functions to ensure product evolution complies with regulatory, legal, security and Group governance requirements.
  • Works with the Program Manager to provide product leadership, requirements prioritisation and business direction for projects supporting data operations requirements.
  • Leads initiatives to foster a collaborative “together we are better” community for Data Operations professionals across locations to share experiences, best practices and learning.
  • Encourages challenge, trust, accountability and open communication among colleagues in all locations.

Product Vision & Strategy

  • Creates, maintains and articulates the Global Single Risk product vision and development roadmap aligned with strategic objectives and market demands.

Global Product Ownership & Leadership

  • Oversees the entire product development cycle, from ideation to launch and beyond.
  • Owns and maintains the Single Risk global product roadmap and backlog, ensuring enhancement requests, regulatory requirements, operational improvements and strategic initiatives are prioritised through a transparent decision‑making process.
  • Acts as the final accountable authority for backlog ordering and prioritisation, balancing global business value, risk, regulatory obligations, total cost of ownership and strategic objectives.
  • Ensures roadmap features are translated into well‑defined product requirements, including features, user stories and acceptance test criteria, that meet quality standards and internal customer expectations.
  • Resolves competing priorities, requirements, investment choices and roadmap trade‑offs through evidence‑based decision making, ensuring alignment across the global Single Risk community.
  • Safeguards the long‑term coherence, sustainability, scalability and maintainability of the Global Single Risk Solution, ensuring enhancements strengthen the product vision and minimise unnecessary complexity.
  • Acts as the main point of contact between teams and stakeholders, ensuring requirements, issues and future needs are appropriately understood.
  • Considers return on investment, operational efficiency and total cost of ownership when shaping product investment priorities, balancing stakeholder needs to optimise value creation.

  • Provides leadership, training and knowledge transfer to local offices.
  • Incorporates internal customer feedback and continuously iterates to enhance product value.

About You

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Experience of successful product delivery and ownership role for a key business solution in agile or hybrid environments.
  • Clear understanding of user experience possessing a ‘client-centric’ mindset across international cultures.
  • Development of business process design, solution and user experience design, and implementation.
  • Experience in managing seriatim data and data processes for life (re)insurance.
  • Good understanding of working in different cultures and ability to travel frequently across L&H markets.
  • Sound understanding of IT and SDLC principles, to be able to assess the business impacts of a proposed technical solutions and changes.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to single risk data, in particular data privacy requirements.
