Armagh Length of contract: 1 year Our Ideal Person Hannon are looking for a professional who demonstrates both excellent verbal and written communication skills, mathematical skills and in-depth knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles with an understanding of analytics.
Do you have strong attention to detail providing accuracy? You will be essential in maintaining the accuracy of financial statements and ensuring compliance with both internal and external standards.
Are you proficient with accounting software, such as Sage or ERP systems and be able to produce month end reconciliations? Communication will be one of your strong suits, enabling effective collaboration across departments and with external stakeholders.
Alongside impeccable organisational skills which allow you to handle high-pressure situations with ease and maintain the smooth operation of your area of responsibility.
You will be both reliable and flexible, demonstrating a commitment to achieving organisational goals while fostering a supportive, collaborative environment within the wider finance team.
You will be reflective, willing to give and receive feedback, build strong relationships and take ownership of the role.
Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts including ownership of financials to TB.
Monthly accruals & prepayments Processing of sales and purchase invoices as required Supplier payments, bank reconciliations, expenses and credit card postings Balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany transactions and journal postings Preparation of VAT, intrastat and EC sales returns as well as other statistical and statutory returns Support in the preparation of year end statutory accounts and audit including ad hoc analysis Other ad hoc financial duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required Essential: A minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
Excellent attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written.
Capable of juggling many tasks with competing priorities and deadlines at the same time.
Ability to work as part of a close team Flexibility in day to day approach and able to use own initiative in a fast moving environment Desirable: Experience of a high-volume finance department Experience of a multi-company, multi-currency finance environment A knowledge of UK and Irish VAT would be beneficial.
A working knowledge of Sage accounting packages would be desirable.
Strong Excel abilities are required, and familiarity with ERP accounting software is desired.
