Hannett Hale is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well regarded secondary school in Kendal. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic English Teacher to deliver high quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring pupils through engaging lessons and strong subject knowledge. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, forward-thinking school community with a commitment to excellent teaching and learning.
About the Role
- Planning and delivering engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Confidently teaching the full English curriculum, including GCSE preparation
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Assessing, tracking, and supporting pupil progress
- Working collaboratively with the English department and wider staff team
This is a full-time role starting ASAP until July 2026, with the potential for further opportunities.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
- Proven experience preparing pupils for GCSE English Language and Literature
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
- A passion for fostering a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking
Pay & Benefits
- Competitive daily rate: £110–£150, depending on experience
