Job Opportunity: English Teacher – Kendal

Hours: Full-Time

Start Date: ASAP – July 2026

Hannett Hale is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well regarded secondary school in Kendal. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic English Teacher to deliver high quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring pupils through engaging lessons and strong subject knowledge. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, forward-thinking school community with a commitment to excellent teaching and learning.

About the Role

  • Planning and delivering engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Confidently teaching the full English curriculum, including GCSE preparation
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Assessing, tracking, and supporting pupil progress
  • Working collaboratively with the English department and wider staff team

This is a full-time role starting ASAP until July 2026, with the potential for further opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
  • Proven experience preparing pupils for GCSE English Language and Literature
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
  • A passion for fostering a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking
