Hannett Hale Recruitment are working on behalf of a welcoming and supportive Primary School in the Carlisle area to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant for their Special Education Unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly experienced team who are dedicated to supporting primary-aged children with a range of learning difficulties and Special Educational Needs.
About the Role: You will be working within a specialist provision, supporting pupils who require additional help with communication, learning, and emotional regulation. The team is extremely experienced, and the school is looking for someone who can slot in confidently, show initiative, and build positive relationships with pupils and staff. This is a temporary supply role for the final 7 weeks of the school year, with the possibility of continuing into September for the right candidate.
Requirements
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (or a childcare qualification suitable for working with children and young people)
- Recent, relevant experience supporting children with SEN or learning difficulties
- A positive, patient and proactive approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
