About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Research Director to lead high-quality research projects and client accounts for a 12-month maternity cover. This is a pivotal role requiring a strong leader who can manage a talented research team, oversee strategic client relationships, and contribute to business growth through expert insight and analysis.
Our client is on a fast growth trajectory, having achieved 30% growth in the past year. We need someone proactive and strategic – not just to maintain but to drive growth, improve efficiencies, and scale processes.
Experience with a SaaS business, Event technology, or the Events sector is beneficial, but not mandatory.
If successful, there may be an opportunity for this role to become permanent.
Role responsibilities include:
- Acting as deputy team lead, mentoring 2-4 direct reports, and ensuring high-quality research output.
- Managing key accounts, delivering strategic insights, and presenting findings to senior decision-makers.
- Designing methodologies, leading quant-heavy research with some qual elements, and ensuring actionable insights.
- Identifying new opportunities, improving processes, and driving efficiencies to support scaling.
- Reviewing event data and identifying trends.
Requirements include:
- Proven experience leading research teams, ideally having scaled a small team into a mid-sized agency.
- Strong strategic thinking – someone who innovates, delegates, and overcomes challenges to drive growth.
- Experience in a research agency is essential; in-house experience is desirable but not required.
- Strong account management and client relationship skills.
We are open to both contract and permanent candidates , with potential for a longer-term role depending on business growth.
