Location: Leeds area (mainly in-office, occasional remote)

Are you an experienced Fieldwork Executive or Project Manager who has mentored or managed more junior members, looking for your next step? Our growing client is looking for a Fieldwork Operations Manager to oversee the smooth day-to-day delivery of fieldwork operations, facility activity, and cross-team coordination. You’ll play a key role in embedding best practice, ensuring continuity across projects, and keeping everything running efficiently from planning to wrap-up. This is a chance to step further into leadership, shape operational standards, and grow within a supportive, collaborative team.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage capacity across the fieldwork team, delegating work and supporting Execs and Senior Execs
  • Line manage junior colleagues, providing regular feedback, coaching, and clear development pathways
  • Lead fieldwork onsite and offsite, maintaining high standards across hosting, preparation, logistics, and participant experience (some evenings required)
  • Oversee facility and equipment processes, from booking systems to upkeep and maintenance, driving efficiency and resolving issues
  • Manage casual staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and payment, ensuring consistent quality and best practice
  • Monitor attendance, quotas, incentives, and KPIs, reporting trends and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Act as a role model across teams, supporting collaboration and promoting strong operational practice
  • Support commercial activity by creating quotes, managing facility bookings, and contributing to promotional efforts where needed

About You

  • Experience in fieldwork or research operations, with strong project management and coordination skills
  • Organised, adaptable, and confident leading multiple projects and supporting others
  • Previous people-management experience, or ready to step into a leadership role
  • Positive, proactive, and solutions-focused, with a hands-on approach
  • Based near Leeds with a driving licence and car
  • Flexible with some evening work (with time off lieu)
