About Hannam & Partners

H&P is a leading independent investment bank providing specialist advice and access to capital. Our sector expertise includes energy, mining, and financial services sectors. Founded in 2012, we have grown by encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset. Working at Hannam & Partners means getting under the skin of our clients to offer an objective view and we pride ourselves on the strength of our client relationships. Owned by our partners, our knowledgeable team has a proven track record. We are known for our honest advice and our technical ability to manage complex situations.

The Energy Team works across all products (M&A, ECM, PCM, Project Finance, Debt and Strategic Advisory) across the world. Broad sectors that the team is involved in include Oil & Gas (Upstream, Midstream and Downstream), Renewable Energy Production (Wind, Solar, Geothermal, etc.), Alternative Fuels (Biogas, SAF, Hydrogen etc.), Storage (BESS, LDES) as well as various clean technology and carbon verticals.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a full time, senior Analyst or Vice President to join our Energy Team in London with key responsibilities outlined below:

  • Build complex financial valuation models for Oil & Gas, Renewable and other infrastructure assets/companies for M&A and financing deals.
  • Engage in due diligence processes and assist in preparing client presentations and marketing materials (preparing teasers, information memoranda, etc.).
  • Conduct company and industry research: monitor and analyze financial information (economic, industrial, and corporate developments) to produce forecasts of business, industry, and economic conditions for use in advising clients.
  • Establish and maintain the respect and trust of clients and other advisors (involved with daily client management, meetings/presentations, liaising with lawyers/advisers).
  • Support Partners and senior team members and work with junior team members (training and supervision of junior bankers).

This role will provide excellent "hands on" exposure in the energy sector and investment banking. Deal teams at H&P are small, enabling Analysts / Vice Presidents to have a meaningful role in their projects and gain direct exposure to clients and senior bankers across the firm. Analysts / Vice Presidents are expected to take on an outsized level of responsibility and can expect early and high-level interaction with clients and their senior management teams.

Person Specification

  • Proven track record of building financial models (including energy and infrastructure models) independently from scratch.
  • Demonstrable interest and understanding of the energy industry, performance drivers, trends and challenges.
  • Proven ability to take on responsibilities.
  • Prior experience with accounting, financial or market data, databases, or analysis tools (CapitalIQ, Bloomberg), Excel, PowerPoint, Mergermarket, HIS, etc.
