The Role You'll be responsible for the commercial management of a range of construction projects from procurement through to final account, working closely with our Directors, Contracts Managers and site teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded QS who enjoys taking ownership of projects and wants to work within a supportive, collaborative business where your input genuinely makes a difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial management of multiple construction and refurbishment projects.
  • Preparing cost plans, valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
  • Procuring and managing subcontractor packages.
  • Negotiating subcontractor accounts and variations.
  • Monitoring project costs, forecasts and profitability.
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Preparing monthly cost reports and financial forecasts.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants and the wider project team.
  • Ensuring contractual compliance throughout each project.

About You We're looking for someone who has

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
  • Experience working for a main contractor.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities.
  • The confidence to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach.
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to commute to our St Albans office.
