Job summary
We are looking for a friendly and personable Receptionist/ Administrator to join our small GP Practice in Hanmer. This is a part‑time position (suitable for job share) and is a varied and rewarding role where you will be one of the first points of contact for our patients, helping to create a welcoming and positive experience for everyone who contacts or visits the practice.
Hours of work: up to 24 hours per week
- Monday 8.00 am - 6.30 pm (hour lunch)
- Wednesday 1.30 pm - 6.30 pm
- Thursday 2.00 pm - 6.30 pm
- Friday 9.00 am - 2.00 pm or 1.00 pm - 6.00 pm (variable and can be discussed at interview)
Main duties of the job
- Maintain and monitor the practice appointmentsystem
- Process personal, telephone and e-requests forappointments
- Answer incoming phone calls, transferringcalls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
- Signposting patients to the correct service
- Initiating contact with, and responding to,requests from patients, team members and external agencies
- Clinically code data and enter patientshealthcare information on to the clinical system (EMIS)
- Data entry of new and temporary registrationsand relevant patient information as required
- Direct requests for information, i.e. insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to theadministrative team
- Completion of Subject Access Requests using dedicated software (training provided)
- Manage all queries as necessary in anefficient manner
- Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area
- Monitor and maintain the reception area andnotice boards
- Support all clinical staff with general tasksas requested
- Action incoming and outgoing emails andcorrespondence as necessary
- Filing/photocopying and retrieving paperwork
- Processing repeat prescriptions in accordancewith Practice guidelines
- Scan patient related documentation and attachscanned documents to patients healthcare records
- Complete opening and closing procedures inaccordance with the duty rota
- Training on all systems will be provided

Qualifications

- Good standard of general education

- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics Grade C (4) or above
