We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Design Technology to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by helping students develop confidence and a love for this subject area. About you:

  • You will be a qualified teacher or hold an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • You will be able to deliver the curriculum in your chosen area and consistently teach high quality lessons across relevant key stages.
  • You will be able to meet the needs of learners from key identified groups, including pupil premium, looked after children, SEND and High Attaining students.
  • You will be a strong communicator with the ability to embrace change, motivate colleagues and build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
  • You will be able to recognise, value and support the delivery of opportunities which extend beyond the confines of classroom delivery and seek to enrich and add value to the students' experience & learning.
  • You will be empowered to develop your own expert practice and support the development of others.
  • You will be highly competent in all elements of the Teachers’ Standards and your achievements and contribution will be substantial and sustained as an Upper Pay Scale teacher.

Hanham Woods Academy is a secondary school located within the outskirts of Bristol and South Gloucestershire, delivering education to pupils aged 11-16. It is one of the most improved academies in the South West, providing an excellent education to over 800 students. The academy has a growing reputation both locally and regionally.
