Social Worker – Huddersfield Royal Infirmary

This role is based at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, Acre Street, Lindley, Huddersfield, HD3 3EA, and you may be required to work at other locations as and when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Level 2 or Level 3 Social Worker within the Hospital Team.
  • Work on a 5 over 7 day contract with weekend working approximately 1 in 7 weekends and an additional 1.81% weekend pay enhancer.
  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide timely and safe discharges from hospital.
  • Deliver self‑directed support and self‑assessment to adults and carers, safeguarding and adopt a positive approach to risk.
  • Support people to remain independent, achieve personalisation outcomes, and maintain choice and control.
  • Engage in continuing professional development, with a strong focus on building confidence and competence.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Full, valid driving licence – use of a council or private vehicle expected; exceptions may be made for disabled applicants.
  • Suitable DBS check at an appropriate level.
  • Commitment to working with adults and their carers in a hospital social work setting.

This position requires a DBS check at the appropriate level; a conviction may not exclude candidates but will be considered during the recruitment process.
