We are currently seeking Domestic staff to join our team. This is a PT role with 30 hrs/week. The role requires flexibility to work over 5 days early or backshift from 9.00am to 14.00, 14.00 to 19.00; must be willing to do either early or back shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Empty waste bins and wipe out
  • Vacuum throughout
  • Shake out cushions
  • Clean taps and sinks
  • Toothbrush holders
  • Polish all mirrors
  • Clean all pipework in lavatories
  • Dust handrails and radiators
  • Move all mobile furniture (including beds and chairs)
  • Wash out metal wastepaper bins
  • Dust and polish furniture and windowsills
  • Shampoo carpets as requested by Home Manager
  • Dust light bulbs and fittings
  • Curtain rails
  • Pictures
  • Restock toiletries, soaps, towels etc as and when required
  • Participate in Staff and Client meetings as required
  • Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required
  • Maintain professional knowledge and competence
  • Adhere to the Care home's disposal of waste policy
  • Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Client, colleague, self or another
  • Understand and ensure the implementation of the Care home’s Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures
  • Report any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard to the Home Manager, or the Handyperson; ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained
  • Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties
  • Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Team player
  • Satisfactory Police Check and check against the POVA List (where applicable)
  • Care for the Elderly experience
