We are currently seeking an Activities & Wellbeing Facilitator to join our team to work part-time hours 24 hrs/week. The shifts would involve working on alternate weekends (depending on ROTA).

Responsibilities include:

  • Helping Residents to socialise within the Care home and providing a variety of activities that cater for all tastes.
  • Planning and initiating monthly rolling/individual programmes, and encouraging Residents to maintain pre-existing hobbies.
  • Encouraging staff members, relatives, and friends to participate in the care home's activities.
  • Accompanying Residents, where possible, to off-site activities.
  • Creating an atmosphere that suits individual Residents within the care home.
  • Assisting with fundraising and budgeting for entertainments, materials, and outings.
  • Maintaining full and accurate records of daily activities using appropriate documentation, and assisting the Named Carer to review and update Resident Care Files.
  • Discussing the aims and objectives of recreation therapy with other Staff Members.
  • Reporting any changes in Residents' physical or emotional condition to the Home Manager or Person in Charge.
  • Providing comfort and company, on a one-to-one basis, for Residents who are unable to undertake any form of activity.
  • Arranging/participating in Staff and Resident meetings, as and when required.
  • Actively marketing the care home and promoting a positive personal/professional profile within the local community, ensuring the good reputation of the care home at all times.
  • Attending mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.
  • Reporting immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Resident, colleague, self or another.
  • Understanding and ensuring the implementation of the Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.
  • Promoting safe working practice in the Care home.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience of working with the relevant Resident group.
  • Qualification in remedial/occupational therapies.
  • Flexible approach towards working routines.
  • Satisfactory DBS/pre-employment checks.
  • Proven ability to develop and organise a range of events/activities for Residents in all Resident categories.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Positive, upbeat personality.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Friendly, creative, and confident.
  • Genuine interest in working with the relevant Resident group.
