Our client, a well-established manufacturing group based in Watford, is looking for a proactive Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant to gain valuable experience within a fast-paced, operational business while supporting key financial reporting and business decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
  • Lead the month-end process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
  • Produce balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the integrity of financial records
  • Support the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
  • Deliver accurate financial reports and performance analysis to support business decisions
  • Partner with operational teams to provide financial insight and resolve finance queries
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting and other ad hoc financial analysis
  • Support continuous improvements to finance processes and controls

Role Requirements:

  • Part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) or AAT qualified
  • Strong understanding of month-end processes and management reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Proactive, detail-oriented approach and the confidence to work collaboratively across the business
