Title: Senior Group Accountant
Location: Central London, Hybrid Working
Salary: £65,000 – £80,000 (depending on experience) Bonus & Benefits
The company:
Our client, a US-listed multinational shipping group headquartered in London, is seeking a commercially minded and technically strong Senior Group Accountant to join their dynamic finance function. This is a key role supporting group-level reporting and financial oversight in a fast-paced international environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the group consolidation process and assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual group financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS
- Prepare and review sections of the quarterly management reports, providing clear financial commentary and variance analysis
- Contribute to the group budgeting and forecasting process
- Prepare detailed schedules and analysis to support external reporting, internal reviews, and audit requirements
- Maintain key accounting schedules including lease accounting, fixed assets, interest accruals, and intercompany transactions
- Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns across multiple jurisdictions
- Support corporate tax compliance and liaise with external tax advisors for filings and audits
- Monitor group cash flow, manage intercompany funding arrangements, and maintain banking relationships
- Support treasury operations, including FX exposure monitoring, cash forecasting, and compliance with financing covenants
Role Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a listed or multinational environment preferred
- Top 10/20 audit training desirable but not essential
- Strong technical knowledge of group reporting, consolidation, and US GAAP/IFRS
- Highly organised with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
