Our client is a PE-backed, multinational software group headquartered in London. Operating within the SaaS/software space, the business has expanded rapidly through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions and is backed by a wellâknown private equity sponsor. They are now seeking an experienced Finance Director to take ownership of financial reporting, controls, and dayâtoâday finance operations during an exciting phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the group's financial control function, ensuring robust processes, controls, and reporting frameworks are in place.
- Own the preparation and submission of R&D tax credit claims, working closely with external advisers and internal technical teams.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, group consolidations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting in line with UK GAAP / IFRS requirements.
- Act as the key point of contact for external auditors, tax advisers, and other professional service providers.
- Manage and review cash flow forecasting, working capital, and treasury activities.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to provide financial insight, challenge assumptions, and support commercial decisionâmaking.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and longerâterm financial planning, aligned with PE value creation objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes, systems, and controls, including automation and scalability.
- Support M&A activity and postâacquisition integration from a finance and controls perspective.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience within a SaaS, software, or technologyâled business is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in a PEâbacked or highâgrowth environment preferred.
- Proven experience owning or contributing to R&D tax credit claims.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident stakeholder manager, able to work closely with senior leadership and external partners.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with modern finance systems / ERPs.
