Our client – a leading independent firm of Development, Built Asset & Engineering and Sustainability consultants – is growing year on year and has a fantastic reputation for staff retention. They are now recruiting for a newly created, client-funded Programme Director role to lead one of the most significant building safety remediation programmes in the UK. Please note: this is a 3-year fixed-term/interim contract.
The Opportunity
Our client has been appointed Programme Lead for a major institutional client's national building safety remediation programme – a multi-year, portfolio-wide initiative covering circa 400 buildings across Direct and Indirect Self-Remediation Terms and Orphan assets, all subject to the Building Safety Act. This is a newly created, fully client-funded post giving you single-client focus and full ownership of delivery, governance and the client relationship. You’ll be the day-to-day face of the programme to the client's Remediation Delivery Committee and Fund Steering Committee, leading a team spanning PMO, workstream leads and technical specialists, backed by a wider technical resource pool of building surveyors, project managers, quantity surveyors, and structural and façade engineers.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Owning end-to-end delivery of the remediation programme across multiple workstreams
- Chairing governance forums and representing our client at senior steering‑committee level
- Managing statutory compliance across the Building Safety Act, BSR Gateway requirements and Golden Thread obligations
- Leading and developing a multi‑disciplinary team in a matrix structure
- Owning programme fee and budget performance (circa £2.5m‑£3m per annum)
- Building a long‑term client relationship, with scope to extend the programme beyond the initial term
What You’ll Bring
- MAPM or equivalent programme/project management chartership
- 15+ years’ industry experience, including senior programme leadership
- A track record leading large, multi-workstream programmes for major clients – ideally real estate, insurance, or building safety/compliance
- Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act and Higher‑Risk Building regime
- Excellent governance, reporting and senior stakeholder management skills
Why Join?
Join a firm that’s growing steadily, values its people, and boasts fantastic staff retention – while leading a high-profile national programme at the forefront of building safety reform.
