Our client is a leading independent firm of Development, Built Asset & Engineering and Sustainability consultants with 70% of their business with institutional Investors. They’re growing year on year, with a reputation for fantastic staff retention and a genuinely supportive, collegiate culture. They're now investing in a brand-new fire engineering service line, and this is your chance to help build it from the ground up.
The Opportunity
Currently, fire engineering expertise is delivered through external consultants. Our client is bringing this capability in-house — and they need a technically strong Fire Engineer who wants more than just a delivery role. This is a genuine path to leadership, with the ambition and support in place to help you grow into a director-level position within 2–3 years. You'll work alongside an established multidisciplinary team spanning building surveying, project management, cost consultancy, MEP, sustainability, structural and façade consultancy — delivering fire engineering input on technical due diligence, refurbishment, remediation and redevelopment projects for a client base that includes major global investors and corporate occupiers.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing fire engineering advice across acquisitions, due diligence and project instructions
- Delivering technical and commercial reports to a high standard
- Supporting FRAs and FRAEWs where relevant (though this isn't the core focus — fire engineering design, strategy and consultancy is)
- Developing existing client relationships and helping win new business as the service line grows
- Building your commercial and business development profile with support from the wider marketing and BD teams
- Collaborating with senior colleagues to shape the future of the offering
What You'll Bring
- A degree in Fire Engineering, or an alternative STEM degree plus a Level 4 Diploma in Fire Science/Fire Safety
- MIFireE membership (or working towards it)
- IEng or CEng status (or working towards it)
- 3+ years' experience in an engineering consultancy environment
- Strong working knowledge of Approved Document B, BS 9999 and BS 7974
- Confidence using CFD and evacuation modelling software
Why Join?
