Our client is a multinational energy group operating across a complex international footprint. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their London finance team.
Reporting directly to the Head of Accounting, this role will play a key part in supporting financial reporting, analysis, and stakeholder reporting requirements across the business.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packs
- Perform detailed balance sheet and P&L analysis, investigating key variances and trends
- Review financial information prepared by external advisers and challenge outputs where appropriate
- Support month-end and year-end reporting processes
- Prepare reconciliations, reporting schedules, and financial commentary
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting activities
- Support board, lender, and investor reporting requirements
- Liaise with external auditors and professional advisers throughout reporting cycles
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes, controls, and efficiencies
- Partner with stakeholders across finance and the wider business to support decision-making
Requirements
- ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualified accountant
- Trained within a Big 4 or Top 10 accountancy practice with an external audit background
- 1-3 years of industry experience gained following qualification
- US GAAP experience would be beneficial
- Oil & Gas, Energy, Infrastructure, or Natural Resources sector experience would be advantageous
- Strong financial reporting, analytical, and review skills
- Experience preparing or reviewing management reporting and financial analysis
- Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders across the business
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
