Title: Accountant
Location: West London (100% office based)
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + benefits
Our client, a multinational shipping and energy group, is looking for an Accountant to join its West London finance team.
This is a broad accounting role offering exposure across financial reporting, management accounts, reconciliations, and month-end processes within an international business. The position would suit a part-qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA accountant, or an experienced accountant currently working towards qualification, who is looking to develop within a multinational environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding items
- Assist with P&L analysis and provide commentary on key movements and variances
- Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, and other month-end adjustments
- Support intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and reporting
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
- Support statutory reporting and the year-end audit process
- Liaise with external auditors and respond to audit queries
- Work closely with finance teams across the international group to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Assist with maintaining strong financial controls and accounting processes
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and finance efficiencies
- Support the wider finance team with ad hoc accounting and reporting projects
Role Requirements
- Part-qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA, or equivalent, with candidates at varying stages of qualification considered
- Previous experience within a financial or management accounting role
- Good understanding of month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience within an international or multi-entity business would be advantageous
- Shipping, Energy, Commodities, Oil & Gas, or Natural Resources experience would be beneficial but is not essential
- Experience with intercompany accounting and multi-currency environments would be advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the business
- Proactive, organised, and comfortable working to reporting deadlines
- Comfortable working 100% office based in West London
