Handley James are working with one of our key clients who are a manufacturer of specialist products to source a Senior Buyer for one of their sites in Warrington. They are looking to recruit this individual to support the improvement programmes that are being driven through the site at this point in time. This role will report to the Head of Supply Chain and will be responsible for improving and sustaining an approach to purchasing that supports every function of the organisation.
This role will be responsible for:
- Delivering strategic sourcing plans across global and local supplier networks.
- Leading supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favourable terms, and cost saving opportunities.
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, ensuring quality and delivery performance are met.
- Implementing inventory optimisation strategies to reduce stockholding costs while maintaining service levels.
- Managing procurement processes within ERP systems, including setup, enhancement, and continuous improvement.
- Driving logistics and freight efficiencies by working closely with carriers and supply chain partners.
- Monitoring supplier performance through KPI reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Currently in a Buyer, Senior Buyer role or procurement specialist within a manufacturer, you will be experienced in working collaboratively and cross functionally. You will be proven in supplier liaison, building effective relationships and being proactive in terms of controlled material supply. You will be highly self-motivated, looking to progress your career and have a high work ethic.
