Overview Handley James Chemical is partnered with a global and market leading chemical manufacturing business with €1bn+ turnover. Our client has a heritage of over 130 years of experience. Their 1,500 employees deliver innovative solutions to customers across a range of sectors, including building materials, cars, horticulture, food and health and hygiene products. They are committed to building a sustainable future, developing more efficient processes, protecting resources and fostering a circular economy.We are currently recruiting a Global Sales Manager who will focus on the UK, Ireland and Nordic regions. The role will primarily focus on continuity of the existing business and maintaining exceptional relationships with their current customer base. The strategic identification of new business opportunities is valuable, but the primary focus is to maintain excellent customer management for approximately 25 key customers.
Responsibilities
Develop relationships and ensure regular communication with existing customers via visits, email, and telephone to maintain and grow existing business.
Be willing and able to talk with both the technical and commercial departments of customers to gain knowledge of product uses and the wider industry to advise them, helping to retain customers and assist with potential further projects.
Attend UK and overseas exhibitions as required and follow up incidence.
Utilise industry and market knowledge to strategically identify new business opportunities.
Maintain and improve the quality of service.
Keep up to date on applications, competition, market developments, and the company\’s technical capabilities.
Travel as required within the UK and Europe.
The Person
Proven global account management/sales experience within the chemical space.
Experience at a European and/or Global level with ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
Clear communicator, confident, self-motivated, and proactive.
Strong influencing, time management and organisational skills.
Any chemistry or scientific related qualification would be advantageous but not essential. Experience managing customers from a variety of industry backgrounds would also be advantageous.
This is a remote position with occasional trips to the UK head office and a flexible approach to working hours.
DetailsSalary: circa £60,000 per annum, plus bonus, fully expensed electric car, private healthcare, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and further benefits.
