Handley James Chemical is excited to be partnered with a global chemical business, a recognised and respected brand with c100 years in industry. Due to growth and expansion and refocus of the team we are recruiting for an experienced sales professional to help them grow one of their divisions here in the UK.
You will be responsible for managing and nurturing existing business, as well as identifying and developing new, strategic opportunities here on the UK.
Responsibilities- Develop relationships and ensure regular communication with existing customers via visits, email, and telephone to maintain and grow current business and become their ‘go to’ person.
- Be willing and able to talk with both the technical and commercial departments of customers to gain as much knowledge of product uses and the wider industry as possible.
- Ensure sharing of information with the sales team to identify potential contract requirements.
- Use application and industry knowledge to identify potential new markets by both sector and geography.
- Follow up leads from the website, incoming enquiries and from any other source.
- Attend UK and overseas exhibitions, as required, and follow up leads.
- Ensure all activity is recorded and communicated within the business in a timely manner.
- Maintain and improve the quality of service.
- Travel, as required, within the UK to see existing and potential customers.
- Proactively keep up to date with market trends and promote these to the sales and leadership teams.
We are looking for a candidate who has proven business development/sales experience within the chemical space. You will have experience within a technical sales role and be keen in a role where you can not only develop and grow this team in the future, but also have the autonomy and input into the sales strategy for this division.
A clear communicator, confident, self-motivated, and proactive. A strong relationship builder who can build rapport both internally and externally. You must be able to influence multiple stakeholders within the business to ensure customers are given the correct priority. Any experience within coatings or surface treatment would be highly advantageous.
This is a remote position covering the UK so good transport links and ability to travel the breadth of the UK is essential.
In return our client is looking to pay c£50,000, a commission bonus based on margin, car allowance and benefits.
