Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper /Accounts Assistant to join a creative talent agency. We are specifically looking for a junior accountant with experience in a creative agency, talent or model agency who wants to progress into an Assistant Accountant.
The team are in 4 days in their office in central London working from home Mondays (10AM-6PM) and benefit from working summer hours in August (PM).
Days to Day
- Daily data entry and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (Xero and Salesforce)
- Weekly credit control
- Accounts receivable (daily invoice preparation for review, processing and sending it to customer)
- Process accounts payable (supplier invoices and processing payment)
- Talent account reconciliation daily – Reconcile received payments against invoices
- Bank reconciliations including model recharges to Xero/Salesforce and allocate to payments for payment run
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Post journals and maintain general ledger entries as required
- Maintaining Booker finance system & remittance system
- Monitor cash flow
- Handle cash and credit card expenses
- Support with VAT returns and compliance
- Liaise with suppliers, models, and internal departments as needed
- Assist with year-end audit preparation with external auditor
- Maintain organised and up-to-date financial files and documentation
Essential
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping or accounts assistant role in a creative agency preferably talent
- Proficiency in accounting software Xero
- Strong Microsoft Excel and general IT skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and proactively
Desirable
- Experience in preparing VAT returns
- Experience in a talent agency or creative industry environment
- Experience in multi-currency transactions including invoicing, payments, and reconciliation
