Area Sales Manager £43,000 + £4,800 car allowance + uncapped commission. OTE £72,000+ The Area Sales Manager (ASM) plays a pivotal role in leading, coaching, and developing a team of Business Development Executives (BDEs) and Business Development Managers (BDMs) within their designated territory. Responsible for driving sales performance, embedding the Handepay sales methodology, and ensuring consistency in execution, the ASM is a key link between frontline sales activity and Senior Leadership. Must be local to Haydock, Merseyside. Who are we? What will you be doing? Leadership & People Development • Lead, motivate, and support a team of BDEs/BDMs to achieve area sales targets. • Deliver structured induction, bootcamps, and ongoing training in line with the Handepay sales methodology. • Conduct regular 1-1s, field coaching, and performance reviews using the competency framework. • Drive a culture of accountability, resilience, and continuous improvement. • Support team progression along the career pathway (BDE → BDM → Senior BDM). Sales & Performance Management Own the area sales target and deliver against agreed KPIs. Monitor daily activity including prospecting, CRM usage, pipeline management, and conversion rates. Ensure consistent adoption of the sales methodology across all stages: • Prospecting & data generation • Appointment setting • Pitching & closing • Onboarding and customer retention Analyse sales performance trends, identifying coaching opportunities and corrective actions. Operational Excellence • Maintain accurate reporting through CRM and sales dashboards. • Collaborate with HR, Marketing, and Operations to ensure smooth onboarding of customers and team members. • Uphold compliance, ethical selling practices, and Handepay’s values at all times. • Implement best practice from across the region to maximise team effectiveness. Commercial Impact • Maximise revenue and commission opportunities within the area by driving quality sales. • Work with Senior Leaders to shape territory planning and resource allocation. • Provide feedback to leadership on market conditions, competitor activity, and customer needs. • Champion new initiatives such as SaaS integrations, EPOS partnerships, Introducers and Ecommerce penetration. What would we like from you? • Proven track record in sales leadership (preferably in payments, EPOS, SaaS, or financial services). • Strong coaching, mentoring, and performance management skills. • Commercially astute with ability to analyse data and make actionable decisions. • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills. • Resilient, driven, and able to inspire high performance. Measures of Success • Achievement of individual and area sales targets. • Team competency progression (growth of green across the framework). • High retention and progression of BDEs into more senior roles. • Strong CRM adoption and pipeline visibility. • Contribution to regional and national sales growth.
