The Area Sales Manager (ASM) leads, coaches, and develops a team of BDEs/BDMs within their territory, drives sales performance, and ensures consistency in execution as a key link between frontline sales and Senior Leadership. Must be local to Haydock, Merseyside.
What you’ll be doing
- Leadership & People Development: Lead, motivate, and support a team of BDEs/BDMs to achieve area sales targets; deliver structured induction, bootcamps, and ongoing training; conduct regular 1-1s, field coaching, and performance reviews; drive accountability and continuous improvement; support career progression; own area sales target and KPIs; monitor activity and CRM usage; ensure adoption of sales methodology.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain accurate CRM reporting; collaborate with HR, Marketing, and Operations to onboard customers and team members; uphold compliance and Handepay values; implement regional best practices.
- Commercial Impact: Maximise revenue and commission opportunities; shape territory planning and resource allocation with Senior Leaders; provide market feedback; champion initiatives such as SaaS integrations, EPOS partnerships, Introducers and Ecommerce penetration.

- Proven track record in sales leadership (payments, EPOS, SaaS, or financial services preferred).
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and performance management skills.
- Commercially astute with ability to analyse data and make actionable decisions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Resilient, driven, and able to inspire high performance.

- Achievement of individual and area sales targets; team competency progression; high retention and progression of BDEs; strong CRM adoption and pipeline visibility; contribution to regional and national sales growth.
