The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 £ per year.
To assist the Financial Controller in the delivery of timely and accurate monthly management accounts with full reconciliations; to assist with Business Partnering, providing effective and timely spend analysis to ensure sound decision support and communication; to analyse and forecast future costs and trends to ensure pro‑active financial planning is met whilst also capable of adding value to various departments of the business.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the timely production of monthly management accounts for two entities, with commentary covering analysis to business activities and variances to plans.
- Responsible for the accurate reconciliation of lease management system and GL postings (Knowledge of lease accounting (operating and finance) preferable).
- Balance sheet reconciliations with proactive follow through on reconciling items. Strong reconciliation skills important.
- Oversee preparation of the fortnightly cashflow forecast.
- Responsible for the smooth operation of audit over year end and half year end audit periods.
- Monthly cost reviews: reporting, hold meetings and follow through to actions.
- Assist with KPI reports for wider group departments.
- Assisting with the payroll process and reconciliation.
- Assist with preparation and review of other related processes, controls or reporting as required.
- Provide assistance to the Financial Controller and Finance Director as required.
The person
- Experience in a similar role or strong practice background.
- Excellent IT skills, to include Excel at an advanced level and in particular presentation skills.
- Familiarity with manipulating large volumes of data in Excel, through the use of pivot tables, charts, etc.
- Part or fully qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA, or fully AAT qualified. Training support to finish qualification would be considered.
- A well organised individual with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
- An engaging team member with a hands‑on approach.
- Friendly and approachable with highly effective communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with both financial and non‑financial personnel.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to constructively use initiative.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and switch quickly between tasks as required.

- Knowledge of Business Central (NAV).
- Interrogation of various business systems to ascertain key financial information.
- Familiarity with lease accounting would be a distinct advantage.
Job type
Monday to Friday. 36.25 hours per week, 7.25 hours per day with flexibility around start and finish times from 8.00am until 6.00pm.
