About the role
My client is a well‑established provider of high‑quality care to elderly residents, offering 24/7 care for all residents.

Key responsibilities
- Supervise a team of Healthcare Associates and ensure that good quality care is provided, in accordance with departmental procedures, guidelines and professional standards.
- Ensure that individual members maintain their maximum potential and independence.
- Uphold the standards of the Company in day‑to‑day practice and represent the Company in a professional and positive manner when dealing with others.
- Support and train junior staff under the supervision of the Home Manager.
- Respond to the physical, personal, emotional, religious, cultural and spiritual needs of the resident.
- Ensure care staff have received a handover either verbally or written.
- Report to the Home Manager or person in charge any illness of an infectious nature incurred by a resident, colleague, self or another.
- Order, store and dispense medication and ensure correct recording of all relevant information relating to medication.
- Complete supervision for care staff.
- Complete audits when required.
- Review assessment of needs and individual care planning consultation with the Home Manager, family and Social Services.
- Report on the well‑being of residents and liaise with GPs and other professionals as necessary.
- Provide personal care around continence management, bathing, household/domestic tasks and general support in a sensitive and empowering way, ensuring privacy, dignity and self‑esteem at all times.
- Encourage communication with residents and assist the individual in retaining their sense of identity, including reminiscence work, life history albums and reassurance techniques under the direction of the Home Manager.
- Use equipment and aids safely and appropriately.
- Maintain effective, clear channels of communication with other staff and professionals.
- Respectfully maintain professional relationships and clear boundaries with residents, visitors and staff.
- Honour confidentiality by protecting residents and staff information at all times.
- Work in a respectful and tactful way, with regard to equal opportunities and challenge negative attitudes towards age, disability, ethnicity, religion, gender, class and sexuality.
- Regularly report to the Home Manager any problems, concerns, training needs and other relevant issues.
- Understand and follow policies and procedures.
- Undergo personal supervision and performance appraisals with line manager.
- Assist the line manager with monitoring and evaluation of home activities.
- Report incorrect use or wasting of resources to the Home Manager.
