We are a specialist independent school supporting up to 45 young people aged 11 to 18.
We provide a therapeutic, trauma-informed education for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and those who have experienced significant adversity.
We are seeking a passionate and resilient Teacher of English to join our dedicated team.

About The Role
You will deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons across a range of qualification pathways, including:
- Entry Level
- Functional Skills
- GCSE English
- Other qualifications tailored to individual learner needs
Our learners require a flexible and personalised approach, and teaching may take place in whole-class groups, small groups, intervention sessions and one-to-one settings.
The ability to teach an additional subject would be advantageous but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality English lessons.
- Support students to achieve personal, social and academic progress.
- Assess, monitor and report on student attainment and development.
- Develop lesson plans, schemes of work and learning programmes tailored to individual needs.
- Create a safe, positive and stimulating learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, carers and external professionals.
- Contribute to educational visits, enrichment activities and wider school life.
- Support pupils' wellbeing, aspirations and future career development.
- Maintain high professional standards in line with Teachers' Standards, Independent School Standards and Ofsted expectations.
