We are exclusively recruiting a Senior Internal Auditor for our client, a FTSE listed commercial business, due to an internal promotion. This is a high-profile position, representing the Head Office and its values and vision as a Group. As the sole representative for audit, in a team focused on governance including risk and controls, the role will report directly to the Global Head of Internal Audit & Risk and is seen as a high-profile position, with significant importance.
Location & Travel
You will be based in the Group head office in Derby, UK, and cover the various retail (including online and offline) markets in which the Group operates. As with most retailers, due to the industry, travel will be very limited, mostly around other locations in the UK (less than 10% of the time). We would however encourage you to go to the office and core operations as much as possible to build your personal brand and reputation across the business, which will be helpful as we are recruiting a 'leader of the future', so your network will be vital for your development.
Responsibilities
This team provides assurance across the global business – to Finance, HR, IT and Operations – and you will be expected to use your skills in many diverse areas. The company’s audit & risk team is seen as a corporate advisory team; project leaders, taking on a wide range of topics in many areas of the business. For this reason, it is important to have a track record of delivering results as well as excellent communication and influencing skills and above all, the determination to really make a difference.
Qualifications
This would be an ideal role for a Top 10/Big 4 trained, ideally qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA, CIMA, CIA, etc.), looking for their first or second move in industry. Fluency in English is essential, and fluency in French would be an advantage, as would some SOX experience too.
