About Hanami International
Hanami International is a specialist global recruitment consultancy, partnering with many of the world's most recognisable organisations across their governance functions. Our clients include FTSE 100, Fortune 500, CAC 40 and DAX-listed businesses, alongside leading professional services firms. While our HQ is in Mayfair, London, our reach is genuinely global. We've successfully recruited in 44 countries and more than 100 cities, delivering assignments wherever our clients need us. Our ambition isn't simply to fill vacancies. We build long-term, often exclusive and retained partnerships across our clients' global hiring needs, creating an exceptional track record of repeat business and lasting client relationships.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Principal Recruitment Consultant to join our market-leading Commerce & Industry team. This is an opportunity for an established recruiter who enjoys building meaningful client relationships, delivering high-quality search assignments and working internationally, whilst benefiting from an infrastructure that allows them to perform at their absolute best. Whether you're already recruiting within governance, or have built a successful career in another specialist market, if you're consultative, relationship-driven and ambitious, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing long-term relationships with multinational organisations, both existing and prospective
- Managing retained, exclusive and contingent search assignments across governance disciplines, including (but not limited to) internal audit, risk and controls
- Partnering with senior client stakeholders to understand hiring strategies and talent needs
- Building relationships with high-calibre candidates across domestic and international markets
- Expanding existing client relationships into broader international partnerships
- Representing Hanami through client meetings, networking and international travel (if desired)
- Acting as a trusted advisor to clients and candidates throughout the recruitment process
What We're Looking For
We're interested in experienced recruiters who can demonstrate:
- A successful track record in professional or specialist recruitment
- Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building skills
- Experience managing permanent recruitment processes from business development through to placement
- A consultative, quality-focused approach
- The ability to work autonomously whilst enjoying collaboration with high-performing colleagues
- Ambition to build a long-term career within an entrepreneurial, international business
- Experience within governance recruitment would be advantageous, but isn't essential. We value exceptional recruiters first and foremost.
Why Hanami?
A platform, brand and culture built for good people - we've spent years building an infrastructure that allows our consultants to achieve more, faster. Thanks to our established client relationships, international reputation and collaborative culture, our consultants have access to opportunities that would be difficult to create independently.
- No meaningless KPIs - No call targets, activity metrics or presenteeism. Success is measured on outcomes, client service and delivery.
- Exceptional earning potential - Our average placement fee in this team is just under £20,000, and our commission structure is among the most rewarding in the industry.
- Truly international recruitment - We actively recruit across 44 countries and have delivered assignments in more than 100 cities worldwide, with genuine opportunities for international travel (whenever & wherever).
- Flexible by design - Work from our Mayfair HQ, from home (remotely), or a combination of both (hybrid). Flexibility is embedded in how we operate, not treated as a perk.
- Investment in your success - We continually invest in better systems, technology, training and development to help our consultants maximise their careers and earnings.
What You'll Receive
- A highly competitive basic salary (£25-65,000 basic), plus an industry-leading uncapped commission structure (typically £25-60,000). Total OTE c. £50-125,000
- Additional incentives throughout the year
- Flexible remote/hybrid working
- International travel opportunities
- Ongoing coaching, learning and professional development
- Access to a world-class global client portfolio and a candidate network on a database of thousands of relevant people
- A collaborative, friendly and high-performing team
