Our client, a large and highly respected not-for-profit organisation, is seeking an Internal Auditor to join its growing assurance team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of operational, financial and governance activities while helping improve services that support communities and stakeholders.
Working as part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team, you will deliver audits that provide assurance, identify opportunities for improvement and support better decision-making across a diverse organisation.
The RoleAs an Internal Auditor, you will plan and deliver a variety of audit assignments across multiple functions and service areas. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand processes, assess risks and evaluate the effectiveness of controls. This role offers excellent variety and exposure to both operational and corporate activities, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to further develop their internal audit career.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, scope and deliver internal audit assignments across a diverse portfolio of activities.
- Gather and analyse information through interviews, documentation reviews and control testing.
- Identify risks, evaluate control effectiveness and recommend practical improvements.
- Produce clear, concise and evidence-based audit reports.
- Build positive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously whilst maintaining high-quality audit files and documentation.
- Contribute to wider assurance, governance and risk management initiatives as required.
- Monitor and follow up on agreed management actions.
- Recent internal / external audit experience gained through an apprenticeship, graduate programme, IAP pathway or a similar audit role – or within practice (a Big 4/Top 20, etc.).
- A good understanding of the full audit lifecycle, from planning and fieldwork through to reporting and follow-up.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a naturally inquisitive approach.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- A genuine interest in governance, risk management and continuous improvement.
